Who
Behind Black Box there is myself, Adele, left-handed, Italian, class 1982, currently resident in Switzerland. I was born in Rome, original family from South of Italy. I cannot recall when exactly I've started painting and drawing, I have a very first memory around 5 years old, when I got disappointed my first abstract painting on a wood board was "relegated" to decor the car park. Since – and despite - then, I never stopped, experiencing, over the years, different materials, techniques, surfaces, colours and styles. I grew up in Rome – the eternal city that gave the roots to my love for beauty, art, sunset, history and walks - where I did my classical studies until university degree in European and Contemporary Literature. I always been an incredible passionate not only for books and reading but especially for biographies and artist lives. I love Art, in all the imaginable expressions. When I was younger – much younger - I’ve been a musician (saxophone and T-bone), but I soon understood, despite the love for music, playing it was not really my gift but allowed me to kick off my experience in the events world. Looking for my gift, exploring my positions in the world I’ve moved to the north of Italy, in Piemonte, where I initially lived in the countryside – an instant crush -in the amazing Langhe region to then move to Turin. Since then, I was 25, I never stopped searching and while working in different fields to pay my autonomy, painting and drawing have always been there, in any corner of any place I called home. Step by step, life brought me back to events production that become not only my main life income but also my ticket to a world traveller life. As a freelance in international events, I travelled a lot around the world and I lived for many months in different countries: UK, Russia, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Ukraine, Brazil, Peru, UAE....and now I’m in Switzerland where I ended up while searching for more daily stability, surrounded by the Alps and the nature. A new life that is giving me more time to develop my different interests including sport and, of course, create my little art. I do think that all my travels – that continue but with a different shape - varied experiences and heterogeneous interests are the source of my paintings. My eyes are curious, my mind develop, my hands move and transform my memories into sketches, colours and patches. In my life I’ve always moved, often changed, many times invented, frequently learned, sometime re-invented and certainly doubted but also challenged myself time after time. Now I know, Creativity – in the small daily life and in the big future dreams - is my gift and I feel blessed for it. But especially grateful, to all the people I met in this path that have been essential to create the person I am now.

What
"A Black Box is the electronic device that records vital flight data (Flight Data Recorder) and cockpit audio (Voice Recorder), helping investigators understand aviation accidents and prevent future incidents. These recorders are designed to withstand extreme impacts, fires, and submersion in water, making them invaluable tools for piecing together accident sequences. A "black box" is called black not for its colour (they are bright orange to be easily found), but because the term is a metaphor for any system whose internal workings are opaque or unknown to the observer." Black Box Corner is a Life Data Recorder that includes flashes, rhetorical device, brushes, geometries, patterns and a bit of mystery. Sketches, Colours and Patches take different shapes – often geometric - to withstand the time passing, making them invaluable tools to piecing together life sequences. But, as the flight recorder, Black Box it’s a metaphor for my personal creativity whose internal working will stay opaque and unknown to the observer. Often Abstract. Figure of Speech like Oxymoron and Antiphrasis take shape on canvas and papers, combining varied and sometime contradictory terms, materials and techniques. A collage of data – technique I often use in my paintings - whose seed lay in my history: memories, attempts, lessons, growth, imagines, changes, a cumulative side life experience that carried on with an inconsistent consistency occupying a space, often just a corner, of my personal life.
